For 2021 Wallace Springs Eco Centre has both the Giant Yellow Eckendorf, the Mammoth Red, and a mix of Red and Yellow. - if you want some it's $10.00 for 1/8th of a lb. (shipping is $2.00 for 1/8th lb. and $3.50 for 1/4 lb.) (approx. 3300 seeds/1/8th lb.) (should yield over 6000lb of mangels). Plant these seeds in loose fertile well drained soil after last frost at 4 inch spacing in 34 inch rows - thin to 1 plant every 8 inches (more or less). Mangels must be harvested prior to first hard frost ( -5 degrees C)

ReplyDeleteGreat, let me know how the beer/wine turns out, have never made either from mangels. Should be interesting. We still have not dug our mangel wurzels yet, but will have to get to it soon.
